Achieve everything you've ever wanted with NOW by Sultan Ahmed.
This book will inspire you to live up to your full potential, and give you the courage to face setbacks and failure.

[Following is the official OnlineBookClub.org review of "NOW" by Sultan Ahmed, awarding it FOUR OUT OF FOUR stars.]

"All humans have dreams of what they want to achieve in life, but many do not end up achieving these dreams because they never try, or they let it fall to the side as real life takes over. The subject of this book is about the steps one needs to take in order to take control of their life and guide themselves to success and the accomplishment of their dreams. NOW is a non-fiction book written by Sultan Ahmed that aims to guide the reader through the steps to success in whatever sphere they are most passionate.

In this book, the author elaborates on his three step formula towards success. The author begins by explaining what exactly confidence is and how it can be confused with other not so appealing traits, such as arrogance . He then goes on to show how to acquire confidence in order to achieve your dreams. As an example of confidence he supplies a quote to explain what he means ‘A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking, because its trust is not in the branch, but in its own wings’.

He then goes on to explain what is NOW and how to live in the NOW, and how that has an effect on you achieving success.

Lastly, the author explains how failure is just as important an aspect as the other two steps . He explains why failure is needed and how one should deal with it.

This was a well written, easy to read and relatively short book. The author writes in a style, as if he is talking to the reader directly. He disperses quotes throughout the book that are relevant for the topic that is being discussed. He also tends to use several examples of successful people and explains the steps that they took in order to acquire their success.

This book was without doubt inspirational and instructive. I learnt quite a lot from this that I can implement into my life. I fully agree with all the steps that the author has described. What I liked about the book was that it was simple and easy implement, and was well explained in detail. It doesn’t confuse or put off the reader with fancy terms.

One thing I must mention, is that although I cannot say that that there was anything specifically negative about this book, I wondered whether it was truly unique. There are many self-help books in the market, each claiming to show the reader the best way to success. Is another book really needed?

However I can say that once a person has read this book they will certainly want to make changes in their life, and start on their road to success. It gives you determination and hope to take the first steps. I was thinking about giving the book a three stars, simply because there are so many self-help books out there, but then I realized that this book needs to be judged according to its own merit and not according to the fact that there are many of the same books on the market. Thus I decided that it deserved a four out of four stars, since it would definitely give the reader the urge and encouragement to implement changes in their life, NOW."

NOW Act Now and Get What You Want in Life eBook Sultan Ahmed Reviews

Sultan Ahmed's NOW is an intriguing little book; I won't denigrate by saying it falls in the ubiquitous (and eye-rolling) self-help category, but NOW is about how you can affect change in your life in order to succeed at goals, and life in general.

The chapters are short and sweet, and each one has at least two "I never thought of it that way" maxims, and some thought-provoking quotes that will resonate with you long after you've put the book down. In some regards this is the great benefit to this book... as when you're looking for a methodology for personal change mantras and sayings are very helpful to keep you focused, and NOW is full of actionable ones.

However, due to its short length, many of the techniques and exercises are fairly surface; they require you to do some additional research and/or hunt out a few other books/guides in various fields (e.g., eliminating negative thought cycles).

Overall, the aim of the book is to convince you to change mental habits as this is the underlying root for lacking confidence. And it does so in a plain, no-nonsense way that is very actionable.

I would have like to see more references and suggested readings on many of the concepts that are obstacles to our success.
Sultan Ahmed presents a surprisingly simple formula for success. Confidence + NOW + Failure = Success. Of course, it’s simplicity is somewhat deceptive. Sure, everyone needs confidence in order to be successful, but if you don’t have it, getting a shot of it is no easy task. If it were, we’d be lining up at the bar waiting for our turn at the shot glass.

He correctly equates confidence with a belief in yourself and your abilities. If you don’t believe in yourself, you’ll never get to the second part of the equation, which is taking action in the here and now to get to where you want to go. Lacking belief in yourself (confidence) means you’ll spend more time dreaming and wishing and less time doing what it takes to achieve your goals. That same confidence in the form of belief in yourself also affects the third part of the equation, which is failure. If, in the face of your lack of confidence, you still manage to make an attempt and you fail, it’s likely to be a serious setback that derails your pursuit of goals entirely. It’s only with confidence that you can get a proper perspective on failure, learn from it, and find a different path forward being a bit wiser from the failure experienced.

So all of this keeps coming back to the all-important question of confidence and how to get more of it. What is Ahmed’s prescription? First, become aware of your own negativity, which is going to vary from person to person. Then, when a negative thought comes along, consciously put a positive spin on it. The idea is to consistently convert negativity into positivity. Surrounding yourself with positive, genuinely confident people also helps, as does distancing yourself from negative people. Next is identifying your talents and strengths, perhaps revisiting things that invigorated you when you were a child but which fell by the wayside along the way, and then owning some pride for what you’re good at. Then you have to face your fears, because fear holds everyone back. But you can push through the fear and insecurity and move on. Cultivate patience and don’t compare yourself to others. With all of that in hand you can then identify and pursue your true passion.

Given the importance of the first piece of the equation (confidence), it makes sense that Ahmed spends fully half of his book on it. He then moves on to the NOW part of the equation. This is your basic carpe diem (seize the day) message, and Ahmed does a good job of imparting a sense of urgency by always putting the word in all-caps. Living in the NOW does require conscious effort because there are always so many seemingly good reasons to take action, and once again it is fear that holds people back, even though most of the bad things we fear may occur don’t, and those that do occur turn out to be not so bad, and even have something to teach us. Every day you don’t take action is a day wasted that brings you closer to the end of your short time on this planet. Can you really afford to not live in the NOW?

How do you do it? When your mind starts to wander off down unproductive paths of fear, you have consciously reel it back in and re-focus on the NOW. It’s a habit you must develop out of sheer repetition. Teach yourself to be patient, savor every moment, and feel gratitude for everything in the moment. Practice becoming increasingly comfortable with taking risks. Avoid “analysis paralysis.”

This brings the reader to the final part of the equation, which is failure and why failure is good. There are many stories of famous business tycoons who racked up startling numbers of failures before they hit success – people like Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, Richard Branson, and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few. The key to failure is your mind-set. If you see it as a train-wreck, then that’s what it will be for you, totally derailing your efforts. If you see it as a mere bump on the road to success, you’ll be fine. When you fail, pause to reflect on why it happened so you have a thorough understanding and won’t repeat the same mistake again. Then pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and continue on your journey to success.

While Ahmed hasn’t necessarily presented anything startlingly new in this book, he has put together material we all need to hear over and over again until it sinks in. And this is a quick enough read that it does that really well.
I was given the opportunity to read this book and give it my honest review, and I recommend it! I’ve read other self-help books in the past and was really hoping I would find something different with this one. Luckily, I am glad to say that I did find something different, and much better than the other ones I’ve read.
The author very clearly states from the beginning of the book why this book is important in moving forward in life, and how the message inside is going to impact each person who reads it. The author does a fantastic job of breaking down the main point while hitting on it from different angles, to enable readers to understand why Living in the Now is important. Whether it is explaining the points from various viewpoints, using real life examples, or even testimony from clients, it is clear that the author of NOW Act Now and Get What You Want In Life really wants you to succeed in life.
Other self-help books I’ve read in the past are awfully short and don’t really get to the point of what I paid good money for. I can honestly say this is one of the best ebooks I have had the pleasure of reading because the author teaches you how to live a better life, but how to stay there as well. Something that other eBook authors simply don’t do.
The author broke down what it means to Act Now and be successful by following the easy to understand chapters that explained what it means to get there, how to get there, how to stay there, and the results you will see from being there.
As I previously mentioned, other self-help books that were kindle only reads seemed to be done by shoddy individuals or people who were writing for the first time. This book was done professionally in all aspects. As I was reading through the book, I could tell that the author did his homework on the subject, wrote it extensively and then fact-checked everything. Nothing seemed like it was fishy. And that is important to me when I’m trying to read something that is supposed to motivate me to do greater things.
The key message from this book is that changing and maintaining a new lifestyle takes time and effort. It isn’t something that happens overnight or is a one stop shop for a miracle pill. The author clearly describes what needs to happen, and how to stay there once you achieve success. The book talks a lot about inward self-reflection. Who are you, and how are you going to utilize your strengths and talents to become a better version that will make your life better.
As I was reading the eBook, the self-reflection helped to clarify my strengths and weaknesses, so that I could make good progress and put me on the pathway to being a successful individual. This is a great read, and a fresh spin on self-help books, I would recommend this to anyone looking to take control to get what you want in life now.
